Yew trees are primarily known as hedge plants. However, you can also find impressive, old yew trees in parks or older gardens.

Yew wood is extremely decorative and is considered one of the hardest conifers. In the past, the wood was used for making bows, among other things. Unfortunately, due to excessive use in the early centuries, there are hardly any old yew trees left. If yew wood is acquired, it is mainly used for turning, inlays or veneers due to its great grain.

Yew trees can live up to 3,000 years and grow up to 20 meters tall.
